Renovating a Prime Beach House – Episode #47

Here we are in the heart of the Toronto Beaches. There is a special story that comes with this house. Jeff Reed, a renovation specialist and professional house flipper, has purchased this property with the intentions of renovating it extensively. He essentially rescued the Seller from several challenges she was facing at the time and in the end came up with a win/win solution for both himself and the Seller. Now that Jeff owns this property which was built in the late 1800’s, he is beginning to realize that there is a lot more history to this house than its age. We will be walking through the trenches with Jeff as he embarks on this renovation journey. He will show us the progress and how he will be transforming this 1800’s property into a state of the art masterpiece that will wow us all!

Legal Issues That Are Never Openly Discussed (Part VIII of Legal Series) – Episode #44

Continuing with our Beach Investing Legal Series with Shayle Rothman from Parnes Rothman Real Estate Lawyers. In part eight of our legal series we discuss some legal issues that are never openly discussed. Some examples that we discuss are, demanding post dated cheques from your tenant, evicting your tenant if they have a pet, and demanding a security deposit. A lot of these are commonly practiced and you should be aware of them. In the Toronto Beaches, over 50% of the residents have a dog or a cat, so this can become an issue if you are a Landlord who does not want any pets in your property. Please make sure you consult with your trusted Realtor and Lawyer in order to have your interests protected.
